How to fit a gate lock:

Tools Required: Drill, 30mm chisel drill bit, small flat head screwdriver and a pz3 or ph3 screw bit.

    1. Firstly, rest your gate lock on the back your gate next to were a brace is. (See picture below)

    1. Using a pencil mark out where the centre of your gate lock barrel with sit.
    2. Now using a 30mm chisel drill bit start to drill through your gate until you start seeing the point come through on the other side. When you start seeing the bit coming out of the front of the gate, remove drill and continue to drill the hole but from the front. This will prevent wood from splitting as you come out of the other side.
    3. Now that you have a 30mm hole straight through your gate, insert the lock and fix into position using the screws supplied and a pz3 or ph3 bit.
    4. Put the gate in the closed position and lock the gate lock. Now you can put the locking bracket over the gate lock bar and simply fix into position.
    5. Open the gate again and add the front plate around the gate lock barrel. (If your gate is hardwood you may have to drill a very small pilot hole first otherwise the screws may snap) See picture below
